Why Community Diversity Is in the Score

Diversity is one of the seven factors in Custom RAAM—not because we're pushing an agenda, but because many buyers care. You can weight it or set it to zero.

When we built Custom RAAM, we included seven factors that show up again and again when real people talk about where they want to live. School quality, value, lot size, age, condition, commute—and community diversity.

Why diversity? Because a lot of buyers tell us it matters. They want their kids to grow up in a place that reflects the world, or they've lived in homogeneous towns and want something different. For others it's a non-issue—and that's fine too.

We're not here to tell you what to prioritize. We're here to let you set the weights. If community diversity matters to you, you can give it 15% or 20%. If it doesn't, you can slide it to 0% and put those points toward schools, value, or commute. The score is yours.

How do we measure it? We use publicly available diversity indices at the town or area level—the same kind of data that serious buyers already look up. It's one input among seven, and you control how much it counts.

Bottom line: It's in the score because enough people asked for it. You decide whether it's in your score.
