Compare
Compare takes two to five Zillow URLs, scores each one against your profile, and produces a shareable Comparison Report. It's the decision- narrowing tool for the moment you're down to a few real contenders.
Compare is a Professional-tier feature. See Pricing for current plan details.
How to use it
- Open Compare from your Dashboard.
- Paste two to five Zillow listing URLs into the numbered inputs. You don't need to pre-score the properties — Compare does that as part of the flow.
- Click Run Comparison. Typical processing takes 30 to 90 seconds per property as the system fetches the listing, applies your profile, and assembles the report.
- You land on the comparison report URL. Share it, print it, or bookmark it.
- Past comparisons are preserved and listed above the input form so you can re-open them later.
What you get
A full Comparison Report at a stable
/comparison-reports/<id> URL — same format, whether you reached it
from Compare or from someone else's share link. The report includes
side-by-side factor breakdowns, a requirements check, written
trade-offs, and a recommendation line.
A worked example
You're between three Austin homes — all Zillow listings. Paste the three URLs, run the comparison, wait two minutes. The report shows them scored 82, 75, and 71 against your profile. Your requirements check flags the 71 for missing your minimum baths. The trade-offs section points out the 82 leads on schools while the 75 leads on commute — a real decision, not a ranking trick. The recommendation lands on the 82 for your profile's weights, but notes when the 75 would be preferred. You forward the URL to your partner.
When to use Compare vs. scoring one at a time
- Compare is for the final three or four. It forces the trade-offs onto the page.
- Quick Score and the Dashboard's Analyze input are for the triage stage — score ten properties, tag the five worth keeping, then Compare them.
Running Compare on a dozen properties is possible but the side-by- side grid becomes hard to read. Narrow first.
Common questions
- Why Zillow only? Zillow listings expose the metadata the scoring needs most reliably. Redfin and MLS integrations are on the roadmap.
- What if one URL fails? The tool reports the failure and lets you swap in a replacement without losing the others.
- Does Compare score against my profile or something else? Your profile. If you've saved a specific profile for a different scenario, make sure it's the active one before running.
- Can I rerun a comparison later? Yes — past comparisons are listed on the Compare page and retain their URLs.
